INSECTS

This gallery is a quiet celebration of the small lives that so often go unnoticed. Insects inhabit the margins of our attention, yet they are endlessly intricate—armoured, iridescent, fragile, and precise. Through close observation and patient photography, I aim to slow things down and invite you into their world.

Many of these images are made at eye level, or closer still, where texture becomes landscape and a compound eye can feel as expressive as a portrait. Veined wings catch the light like stained glass; pollen-dusted bodies tell stories of work and survival; tiny movements reveal surprising character. What might seem insignificant at first glance often reveals extraordinary beauty when given time and space.

This collection isn’t about spectacle or rarity. It’s about presence. About noticing a beetle crossing a leaf, a hoverfly suspended mid-air, or the delicate geometry of a resting damselfly. Some moments are fleeting, others quietly persistent, but all are reminders of how much life exists just beneath our feet.

I hope these photographs encourage a closer look—and perhaps a little more wonder—at the miniature ecosystems that surround us every day.
